• Welcome

We are licensed North Carolina General Contractor.

We do new construction, remodeling, renovation and repair. If it’s a room addition, garage, pool house, horse barn, shop or outdoor kitchen, we’ve built it.

We also specialize in structural repair. In older or historic buildings we quite often are required to replace girders, floor joists, flooring, crawl space walls and even footers.

If you’re buying or selling a house and need repairs , we have the experience to do the job right. We network with home inspectors and consult engineers and work with city and county inspectors to mark sure repairs are completed correctly and “up to code”.

We also offer a “licensed contractors opinion” in writing for negotiating real-estate sales on homes in need of repair. If you want counseling on construction process, techniques or are planning a new home or project, we are available to help you.

Our design of log cabin has evolved from the traditional Appalachian square log with dove tail corners. At present we join the logs together with a spline which horizontally seals out drafts and provides stability from natural movement, We retain a small “chink joint” which gives a more air-tight effect to prevent heat loss and provides a traditional look. We do not incorporate faux textures to replicate hand-hewing, our logs are planed smooth and beautiful.

We believe Rustic can be Artistic, without being crude and rough.

It is interesting to note that 10 years ago, my cabins were built without carpet, little or no drywall, with wood and tiles floors and no finishes which had chemical smells.

I had one client with an expressed allergy to cats, have it disappear after they moved into one of my cabins. My son has no asthma problems and his allergies are asymptomatic.  Today’s green building practices exhibit these same healthful benefits, and I like to think I was ahead of this trend.

We will always incorporate healthy building practices into our homes and cabins.
